Pipetech International develops technology to assist pipeline operators in pipeline condition assessment.

Introduced in 2005, the TP-1 Transient Pressure Monitoring System is designed to monitor pipeline pressure in water pipelines, force main sewer pipelines and petroleum pipelines to provide operators detailed information about transient pressures, or pressure surges. It employs a patented system of dynamic pressure transducers and digital technology to monitor a pipeline for an indefinite period. The TP-1, like any typical data logger can be programmed to detect and store pressure data at any interval.

What sets the system apart is that the TP-1 has the ability to turn on a high speed pressure recorder when an event such as a pressure surge, pressure spike or water hammer is detected. The break through allows designers, engineers, manufactures, and operators to assess the overall performance of a pipeline, pumping plant or petroleum refinery using non-destructive, real-time sensors and hand-held monitoring equipment.

Formerly known as Pipeline Technologies, PTI has been adopting cutting-edge technology to the challenging task of pipeline risk assessment and pipeline risk management since 1995. The company previously developed technology for acoustic monitoring of PCCP, or prestressed concrete cylinder pipe.
